Our favorite scalp care techniques created just for you

  • Water temperature

Hot water can strip the hair of its natural oils, which can lead to drying of the hair and scalp and cause irritation and itchiness.

It can also exacerbate conditions like seborrheic dermatitis and eczema.

Turn the temperature down for benefits!

  • Hui Hui scalp massage

Infused with a blend of 9 active botanical and essential oils, this luxurious lightweight oil is enriched with ultra-purifying and hydrating essentials that contain antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties.

Use 2-3x per week with gentle massage 15 mins-8 hours PRIOR to washing.

  • Going to bed with wet hair?

Sleeping with wet hair isn’t advised because it can be damaging to the hair and increases the risk of scalp infections. Bacteria and fungi thrive in warm, moist environments, and that’s exactly what you create when you sleep with wet hair.

If you can’t avoid going to bed with wet hair, try to dry the roots as much as possible, consider using a silk pillowcase and make sure you’re washing your pillowcase regularly.

  • Nutrition and hydration

A nutritional imbalance will often show up first as a scalp issue, and/or in the form of hair loss.

So it is important to eat a balanced diet with vital omega 3 fatty acids, protein & stay hydrated for optimal scalp health.

We also recommend blood tests to be aware of any deficiencies.

    Especially IRON - D3 - ZINC - FERRATIN

The great scalp reset

We are here to help you fend off pesky scalp problems with these simple scalp reset techniques.

  • Change your mindset from "I'm washing my hair" - to "I'm washing my scalp"

  • Wash every 1-2 days for OILY scalp.

  • Wash 2x week with a moisture shampoo for DRY scalp and scalp oil 2x per week (night before)

  • Lower the water temperature - Your scalp does not like being scolded.

  • NEVER go to bed with wet hair - The warmth and wet can cause bacteria on your scalp and damage to the ends.

  • Dry your scalp thoroughly after washing ( With towel wrap - or hairdryer for 60 seconds)

  • Scalp scrub with fingertips every 4-5 washes (Not to be used with a scalp brush)

  • Keep a scalp brush in the shower and use every other wash - Gentle back and forth motions NOT circle motions. This is so we stay ON the scalp and not simply moving hair around.

  • Consider the double shampoo technique often ( Shampoo rinse, shampoo rinse, conditioner)

  • Avoid layering on dry shampoo - It can clog your follicles.

  • We highly recommend having recent bloodwork results to understand if there are any deficiencies that may compromise hair & scalp health.

  • For severe scalp concerns - You may want to consider an appointment with our in house trichologist who can help you navigate your concern in greater detail.
